Research Interests

My work is focussed on earthquake seismology. In particular understanding the subsurface structure along active plate boundaries and how this may relate to large earthquake ruptures. Most of my work so far has been applied to subduction zones, where one plate sinks beneath the other. This process of subduction is responsible for the world's largest earthquakes.
